Under The Sea

Under The Sea

If I were to put together a list of summer trends than the nautical look & Anchors Away from yesterday's post would be one and Under the Sea would certainly be another. I think Coral is officially here to stay as is animal print - it has become a classic. And this summer, it is interpreted in different colors other than coral pink and in so many more sophisticated materials from dinnerware to sconces and of course textiles.

I love too how the fish, turtles, whales and other sea creatures have made their way to the mainland too.

Viceroy Miami

Last week I posted on Club 50 at Viceroy Miami and this weekend I had the chance to visit. I only wish I had my camera with me but for now these brochure photos will have to do. If you are planning a trip to Miami or live nearby and are looking for a spa day or weekend away, Viceroy Miami is a must. From the moment you enter the lobby you are captivated by the exquisite interiors of one of my favorite Designer's, tastemaker Kelley Wearstler.

With 150 rooms, the hotel is intimate, luxurious and feels residential. Typical of Wearstler's Hollywood Glamour style, exotic marbles and wood finishes create the space from top to bottom, bejeweled with luxe chandeliers & sconces, lavish consoles, fine upholstery. She also combines aqua grasscloth wallcoverings and scenic artwork that quietly whispers beach resort.

Situated within the residences of Icon Brickell, Kelley Wearstler not only had the opportunity to partner with her husband of KOR Hotel Group but also the iconic (no pun intended) Philippe Starck. With amazing views of the Miami port and Brickell key, the pool deck includes 3 infinity pools with Starck's trademark, floating seating area, a large communal dining table, a handpainted tile rug, a grand fireplace and plenty of room to party.

The Spa designed solely by Philippe Starck has to be the most beautifully serene space I have ever seen. A palatial golden yellow chandelier hangs over a white marble, 5000 sf water lounge and a floating library overlooking Key Biscayne.

Outdoor Entertaining in B & W

Outdoor Entertaining

It was a beautiful day today, finally no rain for the first time in weeks. It was the perfect evening for entertaining outdoors and in style. I just love the spectator look of Black & White and it is easy to do and always looks so fresh and sophisticated for summer.

Add instant chic to your backyard, deck or balcony with this striking pavillion or umbrella. Then bring in some shine, natural elements, bold accessories and a splash of one juicy fruit color and you'll have a super stylish outdoor room to come home to all summer long.

Dress - Calypso
Eco Floral Pillow - Fabricadabra

Viceroy Art on 50 - Karin Garcia

The glamorous Viceroy Miami designed by iconic designer Kelly Wearstler now hosts Art on 50, a Tuesday night art series paired with cocktails and incredible views of the City at Club 50. Tonight, Karin Garcia will be the featured artist.

Originally from Argentina, Garcia resides in Miami and her work can be seen at the fabulous NiBa boutique, also co-sponsoring the event this evening. With an architecture & design background, she creates graphic, collage prints that transforms interior furnishings from found objects to contemporary lucite and textiles.

I immediately took to these particular pieces when I first saw them last summer. Bold. Playful. Natural. They are super chic and bring on instant drama.

Bromstad Debuts Mythic Paint Colors

I know I have not blogged since Earth Day. I suppose I was distracted in May but I am jumping back in with a goodie. David Bromstad, from the HGTV hit show Color Splash, is introducing a new color collection for Mythic Paint with new palettes available this summer. And Derek from Broward Mythic Paint recently gave me a first look.

The colors have a broad appeal, like his show they are nature inspired and fashionable yet very practical to suit any room, any home and any mood.
What sets Mythic Paint apart from other paint? It is non toxic. Zero VOCs (Volatile organic compounds that are bad for you and the environment). Excellent Coverage. No Odor. No Warning Labels. No compromising. Mythic will match any color.

My Bromstad picks:
America the Pewterful - lavender gray
Al Cappuccino - cocoa
What a Diva! - pink
If you are considering a paint color and would like assistance, feel free to email me a question or contact us to schedule an appointment.
